BARBOURSVILLE, W.Va. (AP) - Police say two people are dead and one person is hospitalized with critical injuries following a wreck on Interstate 64 in Barboursville.
Multiple news outlets reported that a westbound vehicle hydroplaned and crossed median cable barriers around 8:10 p.m. Tuesday near the Huntington Mall. That vehicle hit an eastbound vehicle.
Police said both drivers were killed. A female passenger in the eastbound vehicle was taken to a local hospital. An infant in the eastbound vehicle wasn't injured.
The wreck was one of three within 24 hours that shut down I-64 in Cabell County.
Both westbound lanes between the mall and Milton were closed for about three hours Wednesday morning because of a wreck.
Both westbound lanes in Huntington were closed for seven hours Tuesday after a tractor-trailer jackknifed.
