The Charleston Gold Dome Lions Club and the American Diabetes Association will have the Kiss-A-Pig event on Nov. 14 at Appalachian Power Park, 601 Morris St. The ADA will have an ADA Community Walk for Diabetes presented by Suddenlink from 9 a.m. to noon. Events include a welcome and Zumba warm up at 9 a.m., National Anthem at 9:50 a.m., and the walk begins at 10 a.m. A band will play.
The Charleston Gold Dome Lions Club's Pig Zone will man a booth at the ADA Walk to distribute literature and sell soy candles and brooms and other items. The ADA and club have partnered to help with the walk and KAP events to encourage all to be aware of diabetes and its prevention and consequences.
The Charleston Gold Dome Lions Club will take over the event at noon to conduct the official Kiss-Off to determine who the winner of kissing the honorable live pig will be. The pig is recognized as the first source of insulin for diabetics in 1921. Candidates for the Kiss-Off are:

Candidates have gathered votes/dollars since the Kick Off to determine who has the most votes/dollars. The lucky winner will be announced and will kiss a live pig at the Kiss-Off.
Votes/contributions can still be sent in the form of checks and money orders made payable to the KISS-A-PIG Program and have the candidate's name in the memo section and mailed to: Kiss-A-Pig Program, P.O. Box 2385, Charleston, WV 25328.
