Fairy garden workshop
Birds, Blooms and Butterflies is hosting a Fairy Garden Workshop from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday in the Community Center at Valley Park. The cost is $20 and includes two hours of instruction, the container, plants, the dirt, a fairy, and one fairy door. Space is limited. Gamblers support group
The Problem Gamblers Help Network of West Virginia has a weekly support group meeting for problem gamblers and their loved ones from 6 to 7:30 p.m. each Monday at Blessed Sacrament Church in South Charleston. The group meeting is free and confidential. It is open to anyone who worries that they, or a loved one, gamble too much. For more information, call 1-800-Gambler.
Al-Anon/Alateen meetings
Al-Anon/Alateen groups offer open and free support group meetings for those that have loved ones and friends that have addictions. Al-anon meetings are held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays at St. John's Episcopal Church, 1105 Quarrier St.; at noon Wednesdays at the Kanawha County Day Report Center, 900 Christopher St.; and at 7 p.m. Thursdays in the Edgewood area at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, 819 Somerset Drive. Alateen - for teens who deal with the alcoholism and/or drug addiction of a family member or friend meets at 7 p.m. Thursdays in the Edgewood area at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, 819 Somerset Dr.; and noon on Fridays at Christ Church United Methodist, 1221 Quarrier St., Room 200, second floor. The Legacy Study Group meets at 7 p.m. on Sundays at First Presbyterian Church, 508 Second Ave., South Charleston. For information on the WV Al-Anon, call 304-345-7420.
