Richwood's 10-person mayoral election is too close to call.
The morning after election day, Glenn Weiler, a recent transplant from California, led the crowded field with 102 votes, a city clerk said.
Close behind was Bob Henry Baber, a former mayor and several time candidate for statewide office, with 100 votes.
Incumbent mayor Bob Johnson followed with 82 votes and service station owner Drexel McMillion had 81.
The official results will not be known for about a week, until after the city has completed its election canvas, the clerk said.
The city of 2,000, in Nicholas County, sits at the gateway to the Monongahela National Forest but is struggling to turn itself around, with a declining population and a nearly deserted downtown.
