University of Charleston students eating on campus Sunday night were served undercooked beef, raising concerns over food safety.
On Monday, President Ed Welch acknowledged the situation on Twitter and offered his apologies. He said the problem has since been addressed and fixed.
No illnesses were reported, said university spokesman Dave Traube. He said food service workers stopped serving the too-rare tenderloins as soon as they were told the meat was undercooked. They then ordered pizza for students.
Welch said additional concerns would be answered by Dining Services Director Dan Argento.
