At long last, pop parody superstar "Weird Al" Yankovic will be coming to Charleston this fall.

The show, scheduled for Sept. 22 at the Clay Center, was announced as part of Yankovic's 79-city "Mandatory World Tour."

The Grammy winner's career spans nearly 40 years and dozens of hits both on the comedy and pop charts. He's best known for songs including "Eat It," a parody of Michael Jackson's "Beat It"; "The Saga Begins," a song detailing the plot of "Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace" done to the tune of Don McClean's "American Pie"; and "White & Nerdy," a song that parodies "Ridin'" by Chamillionaire and Krayzie Bone.

Tickets for the show have not been released yet, but pre-sale tickets for some shows on the tour will be available starting Wednesday.
