The Kanawha Valley Regional Transportation Authority is changing "a majority" of bus routes beginning Oct. 11, according to a news release from KRT.
"These route changes coupled with their new fast flat fare system will get passengers to their destinations faster and will improve connectivity to important travel destinations," the release states.
The schedules with route changes will be at KRT stations and the Transit Mall early next week, according to the release.
In July, the KRT switched to a flat fare of $1.50 per ride and $2.50 for a day of unlimited riding.
"Our riders need a simple and efficient way to reach their destinations," Dennis Dawson, General Manager for KRT, said in the news release. "We are confident that these changes will not only accomplish these goals but will improve the transit experience for all who ride on KRT."
The route changes are on the agenda for the regular meeting of the KRT's Board of Members, scheduled for at 8:45 a.m. Thursday at the agency's office at 1550 Fourth Ave. in Charleston.
