Aquatic wellness

The Greater Kanawha Aquatic Education Wellness Foundation Inc., a foundation formed by the HYCAT Swimming Program, will meet at 5 p.m. today, to discuss the Counsilman-Hunsaker feasibility study for a new aquatic facility containing multiple pools, including a 50-meter-by-25-yard competition pool. WIB meeting

The Region III Workforce Investment Board of Kanawha County will meet at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Peoplework Solutions, 497 First Ave. South, Nitro. The agenda is available for review in the WIB office.

Coin club

The Charleston Coin Club will hold their monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Kanawha City Community Center, 3511 Venable Ave. S.E. A coin auction will be held. For information, call 304-727-4062 or visit http://charlestoncoinclub.org/.

KCPL Main Library

The Kanawha County Public Library will offer several programs. A Baby and Me program will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at its location, 123 Capitol St. The program is for infants age birth to 18 months. An Ugly Holiday Shirt Decorating program for teens will be held at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Main Library. Supplies will be provided. To register, call the library at 304-343-4646.

Bonnie's Bus

Bonnie's Bus, a digital mammography center on wheels, will visit Clay and Kanawha counties offering digital mammograms and breast care education to women. A service of WVU Medicine and the WVU Cancer Institute, Bonnie's Bus will be parked at the Rite Aid Parking lot across from the Clay County Senior Center in Clay from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday. For an appointment, call 304-587-2468. It will be at Cabin Creek Health Center in Dawes from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday. For an appointment, call 304-595-5006. The mammograms are billed to private insurance, Medicaid, or Medicare, if available. Mammograms for women who do not have insurance will be covered by the West Virginia Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Program or through special grant funds from the West Virginia affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. A physician's order is needed for a mammogram.

Christmas Express

The Collis P. Huntington Railroad Historical Society Inc., in partnership with The Woman's Club of Huntington, will present the Huntington Christmas Express, a new stationary event. Families will be able to board historic railroad cars to hear a Christmas story while enjoying hot chocolate and cookies. Children will also meet Santa Claus and receive a special gift from him. This stationary event lasts about an hour and kids are encouraged to wear their pajamas. Tickets remain for only one time slot: 3:45 p.m. Dec. 19. They are $10 per person and can be ordered by calling the Railroad Historical Society's office at 304-523-0364 or by visiting www.newrivertrain.com.

Al-anon/Alateen

Al-Anon sponsors open and free group get-togethers to help folks who find themselves loving someone with an addiction. Alateen meetings are for teens who deal with the alcoholism and/or drug addiction of a parent or friend. Al-Anon meets at 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays at St. John's Episcopal Church, 1105 Quarrier St.; Wednesdays at noon at the Kanawha County Day Report Center, 900 Christopher St.; and Thursdays at 7 p.m. in the Edgewood area, St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, 819 Somerset Drive. Alateens meets on Thursdays at 7 p.m. in the Edgewood area at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, 819 Somerset Drive; and Fridays at noon at Christ Church United Methodist, 2nd floor, Quarrier and Morris streets. The Sunday Legacy Study Group meetings at 7 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 508 Second Ave., South Charleston.
