ROMNEY, W.Va. (AP) - A Hampshire County woman convicted of killing her estranged husband will spend the rest of her life in prison.
The Cumberland Times-News reports that Mandy O'Hara received a life sentence without mercy on Monday in Hampshire County Circuit court. She won't be eligible for parole.
A jury convicted O'Hara on a murder charge in August. She also was convicted on charges of conspiracy, burglary and concealment of a body.
O'Hara and co-defendant John Steven Shoemaker were accused of killing O'Hara's husband, Michael O'Hara, in September 2013. Prosecutors say the O'Haras were in the midst of a divorce at the time. Custody of the couple's two children was awarded to Michael O'Hara.
Shoemaker pleaded guilty to second-degree and is serving a 20-year sentence.
