MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Donors have pushed West Virginia University to 92 percent of its current fundraising goal with more than two years left in the "State of Minds" campaign.
WVU says alumni and other supporters have given a total of $917 million as of Sept. 30. That's an increase of $19 million in the past three months.
The goal is $1 billion by the end of 2017.
The campaign has received contributions from about 81,000 donors, including nearly 34,000 alumni and more than 6,000 corporations.
Since the beginning of the campaign, WVU says 652 student scholarships and 50 endowed faculty chairs and professorships have been established and 192 new research funds have been added.
