Charleston Police officials are calling a recent series of shootings throughout the city impulsive and reckless.
Lt. Steve Cooper, chief of detectives for Charleston Police Department, said the victims knew the suspects in each incident.
"One thing that they have in common are impulsive acts by people who are carrying guns," Cooper said. "If they're not a convicted felon, they can carry now carry those concealed.
"Because the law was changed, even a 21-year-old drug dealer from out of state - if he's not convicted of a felony, he can carry a weapon concealed as long as he's not carrying drugs on him," Cooper said.
Darrell Hill, 27, of Charleston, was shot in the buttocks outside of Artie's Kickback Lounge on Central Avenue Sunday morning. Hill then walked to the hospital.
Hill was in a car with two other people when the incident happened, and all three were intoxicated, Cooper said. Due to the level of intoxication, the two individuals were not helpful with providing information to police officers, Cooper said.
Artie's Kickback Lounge has been the site of numerous shootings. On Dec. 31, an 18 year-old male was killed outside the West Side bar. In December of 2014, the bar's private club license was suspended for 10 days after dozens of rounds were shot into the bar.
Wallace Clingman, 22, is charged with shooting Brittany Bowcott, 31, in the face inside his home at 403 Tennessee Ave. Saturday night.
Neighbors told police that there appeared to be a lot of drug activity around the home.
Friday night, one person was arrested after a shots-fired call came from 1311 Renaissance Circle. Cooper said no one was injured but Tevin Mells, 25, was arrested for being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm.
Additionally, police are still looking for a Detroit man who allegedly shot into a convenience store on the city's West Side Friday afternoon.
Ronel Lloyd McCauley, 26, is wanted on seven counts of wanton endangerment, Cooper said, and is considered armed and dangerous.
McCauley fired shots into the Go-Mart at 811 Washington St. W. around 2:30 p.m. Friday. Cooper said the police have spoken to McCauley on the phone, but he was uncooperative.
Anyone who sees McCauley should not approach him, but call 911, police say.
