Charleston police were looking Friday for a Detroit man who allegedly shot into a convenience store on the city's West Side on Friday afternoon.
Ronel Lloyd McCauley, 26, should be considered armed and dangerous, Sgt. Tyke Hunt said in a news release. He is charged with seven counts of wanton endangerment.
McCauley fired the shots into the Go-Mart at 811 Washington St. W. around 2:30 p.m., police said. A Kanawha County Metro 911 dispatcher said it did not appear that anyone was injured, and no one was taken to a hospital.
Police said McCauley has ties to Charleston's East End as well as Detroit, and sometimes goes by the names Neli Hicks, Chris Hicks and Ronel Hicks. They said McCauley may be driving a silver Dodge Charger.
Three West Side schools - Edgewood Elementary, Stonewall Jackson Middle School and Mary C. Snow West Side Elementary - were placed on lockdown after the shooting. The lockdown was lifted shortly before 4 p.m.
