The Kanawha-Charleston Health Department will have a naloxone training session on Monday at the St. Paul United Methodist Church, located at 4606 Kanawha Turnpike in South Charleston.
The training, which centers on how to administer the drug naloxone to a person who has overdosed on opioids, will be at 6 p.m. at the church. Those who complete the training will be eligible to receive an EVZIO naloxone auto-injector from the health department.
"This training is particularly important for the loved ones of those who might experience an opioid overdose," said Dr. Michael Brumage, health officer for the KCHD. "This training could allow a person to save a loved one's life."
The training is free. For more information, call 304-348-6493.
