Christ Church United Methodist, 1221 Quarrier St., is still accepting consignor and/or volunteer registration for its Twice Blessed Consignment Sale, which will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday at the church. Consignors keep 70-percent of sales. The sale features infant to juniors size clothing, toys, bikes, baby equipment, furniture, books and more. Volunteers can shop early. A "Joyful Flash Mob," a fun group rendition of Beethoven's "Ode to Joy," will be held at noon Saturday on the lawns of the historic home of former West Virginia Governor H.G. Kump, 401 S. Randolph Ave., Elkins. Voices, instruments, and curiosity are welcome. As a stop on the Community Artists Open Studio Tour, Friday through Sunday. from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Kump Education Center will feature a special art exhibit and sale. The artist, Marcia Mitchel, is well-known for her watercolor paintings of state wildflowers. A picnic Saturday will be made by Elkins' Vintage Restaurant. A hot dog sale and New Hope Animal Rescue event will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Unity of Kanawha Valley, 804 Myrtle Road. Unity will be selling the hot dogs. New Hope Animal Rescue will be on the other side of the parking lot in the shade with dogs that need loving, caring families. There will be photos of cats that need adoption and foster families. Hot dogs, chips, drinks and desserts will be for sale. A special of two hot dogs, drink and dessert for just $5.
