Clay County Floodfest 2016 will be held Saturday at Clay County High School. The all-day event is hosted by 10 Feet Tall. Proceeds will go to Faith, Hope and Love Charity and will be used for helping flood victims rebuild. A benefit spaghetti dinner will be held from noon to 3 p.m. for $8 per plate. A benefit concert will be held from 3 to 10 p.m. and admission is by donation. Concessions and t-shirts will be sold. Singers include: 3 p.m., John Richards; 5:30 p.m., Overdrive, Daniel Ballengee, Steve Goodwin, Reed Hamrick, Ray Gunoe and Timmy James; 7 p.m., Common Houses, Matt Kiser, Chris Stockwell, Dale Chappel, and Jeremy Morriston; 8:30 p.m., 10 Feet Tall, Matt Turner, David Duffield, Sean Jarrett and Billy Duffield. A live benefit auction will be held from 4:15 to 5 p.m. with auctioneer Jeanie Davis.

The Kanawha County Republican Executive Committee will formally open the Kanawha County Republican Campaign Headquarters from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 106 Capitol St. There will be drawings, refreshments and candidate information available, along with special guests. The Greater Huntington Park and Recreation District will host its Hike of the Month on Saturday at Rotary Park. Meet at the Trailhead/Observation Tower parking area at noon. Kanawha Trail Club will sponsor an Ice Cream Sundae Stroll at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday on the Carriage Trail and city streets. Carpool from the parking lot at the corner of Ohio Avenue and Randolph Street across from the post office. The hike is 3-4 miles and is mostly flat, with some stairs, and an easy climb at the end. Walk over the bridge and along the river. The group will visit Ellen's Ice Cream parlor afterward.
