Saint Francis Hospital will be offering free "Drive-Thru Flu Shots" from 8 a.m. until noon (or as supplies last) on Sunday in the hospital's circle drive off of Laidley Street. No need to exit your vehicle; roll down your window and seasonal flu shots will be given by the hospital's nurses. Those who are allergic to latex or natural rubber, are pregnant, are breastfeeding, or are under the age of 18 will not be given the vaccine at this clinic.
The GFWC Woman's Club of Cross Lanes is sponsoring a special breast cancer presentation in the Cross Lanes United Methodist Church fellowship hall at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 6. Dr. Roberto Kusminsky of the CAMC Imaging Center will share information about the Breast Imaging Center at the new David Lee Cancer Center, as well as touching on all issues related to breast cancer. Homecoming run/walk
The fourth annual West Virginia State University Homecoming 5k Run/Walk will take place at 7:30 a.m. Oct. 10 on the plaza of the James C. Wilson University Union. Register online at TriStateRacer.com. The cost is $20, and the first 100 registered participants will receive a T-shirt. Registration will also be available on the day of the event beginning at 6:30 a.m. Race day registration is $25. Proceeds benefit the WVSU Students Matter Most Fund.
