The West Virginia State Medical Examiner's office has confirmed that a body found in Greenbrier County on Tuesday is that of 14-year-old Mykala Phillips, the last missing victim of June's floods.

State Police received confirmation from the medical examiner's office Wednesday, said State Police Sgt. Drew Pendleton. He said dental records, jewelry and circumstances led to a quick identification of the teenager's body.

Phillips was swept away in the June 23 flood, which destroyed her family's home in White Sulphur Springs.

Pendleton said Phillips' body was found near Caldwell, about six miles from where she went missing.

A large search team with cadaver dogs was canvassing the flood-ravaged area and found the body around 4:15 p.m. Tuesday when the body was found, Greenbrier County Sheriff Jan Cahill said Tuesday.
