Marshall Petty and the Groove will perform from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the Olive Tree, 333 2nd Ave., South Charleston.

Kanawha Trail Club will sponsor a hike at 9 a.m. Saturday at Watoga State Park and Calvin Price State Forest. Carpool from the parking lot at the corner of Ohio Avenue and Randolph Street, across from the post office. The hike is 6 miles on a moderate loop trail with a steep uphill 1,000 foot section; then an optional short out and back hike on Allegheny Trail at the adjacent Calvin Price State Forest. Bring a lunch. The club will also have a hike at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday on Kanawha State Forest's Snipe Trail and Shrewsbury Road. Carpool from the parking lot at the corner of Ohio Avenue and Randolph Street Randolph. The hike is 2 miles on an easy to moderate trail.

The Malden Public Service District Board of Commissioners will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the District office, located in the administrative building of the Wastewater Treatment Facility.

The Charleston chapter National Active and Retired Federal Employees will meet at 11 a.m. on Aug. 12 at the Golden Corral Restaurant, 412 Goff Mountain Road, Cross Lanes. Guest speaker will be Kerry Conger, a representative of Blue Cross/Blue Shield. Conger will present information on controlling blood pressure and cancer prevention. The annual picnic in September will be discussed. All active and retired federal employees and their spouses are invited.
