Bus safety day

Kanawha County Schools Transportation Dept. will sponsor a safety day beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the Crede Transportation Office to provide parents with answers to commonly asked questions and concerns. Supervisors and safety and security officers will be on hand to answer any questions and concerns. Zack Hanshaw, county web master, will discuss how he will move much of the counties communication to social media platforms. For more information, contact Brette S. Putnam Aging meeting

Putnam County Aging Program will hold a public meeting on the proposed Title III budget revisions to their FY 2017 provider plan from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday in the John Henson Senior Center, 2800 Putnam Ave., Hurricane. The proposed budget revision calls for the utilization of new funding sources for transportation, thereby freeing up Title IIIB funds to provide other services like housekeeping. Photo fund drive

Cedar Grove Volunteer Fire Department will sponsor a 2016 Photo Fund Drive from noon to 5 p.m. Aug. 7 at the Cedar Grove Fire Station. Appointments are not needed and walk-ins are welcome. Proceeds will be used to update rescue and firefighting equipment.

Gamblers support group

The Problem Gamblers Help Network of West Virginia has a weekly support group meeting for problem gamblers and their loved ones at 6:30 p.m. each Friday at Blessed Sacrament Church in South Charleston. The group meeting is free and confidential, and open to anyone who worries that they or a loved one gamble too much. For more information, call 1-800-Gambler.
