I keep a camera close. Sometimes it's a small Fujifilm x100s that I sling around my shoulder before I head out to eat. Sometimes it's a giant Nikon D4 that I use on the side of a football field. Sometimes, it's my iPhone.
It's convenient. And small. And I know, even if I forget my fancy Nikon, I still have a camera with me.
My phone is easy to grab when I'm driving to Williamson for a story or I'm heading to see my grandmother in Grant County.
It's always in my pocket on a hike. And when I don't feel like lugging around my heavy DSLR, my phone is there.
Here's some images I've taken with my iPhone and posted on the photo-sharing app, Instagram.
I use Instagram a lot. It's my visual diary. It's my image cataloger. It's the fog rolling off the river that I don't want to forget.
You can find these images on my personal Instagram account, @samowensphoto, and also on the Charleston Gazette-Mail's account, @wvgazettemail.
