A Division of Highways worker was flown to a Charleston hospital after he was pinned under a large rock at a Roane County construction site.
Carrie Jones, DOH spokeswoman, said the worker was on a crew clearing debris and slides caused by last month's flood. When the worker stepped out of his vehicle, the rock fell on him and he was pinned underneath for a period of time. The incident occurred around 9 a.m. Thursday, she said.
The current condition of the worker is unknown, Jones said.
The incident occurred on or Amma Road, near the County Road 23/6 junction.
