Neighborhood watch

A Neighborhood Watch meeting for residents of Ward 2 in St. Albans will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church at the corner of Kanawha Terrace and Pennsylvania Avenue. Jason Philabaun, Councilman for Ward 2, is in charge of the meeting.

Parks and recreation

The Kanawha County Parks and Recreation Commission will meet at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Coonskin Clubhouse Oak Room, Coonskin Park. The agenda is available at the Park office. Call 304-341-8000 for more information.

Adult Archery Class

An Adult Archery class will begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday on the archery range at Cato Park, 200 Baker Lane. There is no charge and standard genesis bows will be provided for class use. Participants must be 18 years of age or older and pre-register to participate. This class is for beginners with no experience. Al-Anon/Alateen meetings

Al-Anon/Alateen groups offer open and free support group meetings for those that have loved ones and friends that have addictions. Al-anon meetings are held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays at St. John's Episcopal Church, 1105 Quarrier St.; at noon Wednesdays at the Kanawha County Day Report Center, 900 Christopher St.; and at 7 p.m. Thursdays in the Edgewood area at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, 819 Somerset Drive. Alateen - for teens who deal with the alcoholism and/or drug addiction of a family member or friend meets at 7 p.m. Thursdays in the Edgewood area at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, 819 Somerset Dr.; and noon on Fridays at Christ Church United Methodist, 1221 Quarrier St., Room 200, second floor. The Legacy Study Group meets at 7 p.m. on Sundays at First Presbyterian Church, 508 Second Ave., South Charleston. For information on the WV Al-Anon, call 304-345-7420.
