An Ohio man faces up to a decade in federal prison after attempting to meet with minors for sex in Parkersburg last summer.

Robert N. Bray III, 38, of Logan, Ohio, pleaded guilty Tuesday to enticing minors to engage in sexual activity, according to a news release from Acting U.S. Attorney Carol Casto's office.

Bray admitted to using a computer and cellphone in July 2015 to communicate with a person he believed was the mother of a 10-year old girl and 5-year-old boy in Parkersburg. The individual actually was an undercover law enforcement officer, according to the release.

After arranging a meeting with the undercover officer on July 22, 2015 to have sex with the children, Bray was arrested upon arriving in West Virginia, the release states.

That same day, authorities carried out a search warrant on Bray's home and seized a computer containing nearly 300 images of child pornography.

In addition to a 10-year prison sentence, Bray also faces 20 years of supervision upon release, as well as being required to register as a sex offender.

Sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 7.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Lisa Johnston is in charge of the prosecution.

The plea hearing was held before U.S. District Judge John Copenhaver.
