Parks and recreation meeting
Kanawha County Parks and Recreation Commission's Finance/Golf Committee will meet at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Coonskin Administration Office, Coonskin Park. The agenda is available at the Park office.
Historic Contentment Complex
The Historic Contentment Complex on U.S. 60, is open for the 2016 season from 1 to 4 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays through August. The complex is located 1 mile east of Hawks Nest Park. Groups of five or more may call for an appointment on other days at 304-719-7520. Admission is $6 for adults, $3 for children under 12. There will also be an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. on June 18 during the Ansted Hometown Festival. Admission that day is by donation.
Night hike
Kanawha Trails Club will sponsor a night hike at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Dunlop Hollow parking area. The hike is 2.5-3 miles on a fairly level forest road. Bring a light source.
