MARTINSBURG, W.Va. (AP) - Court records show a Baltimore man faces additional charges related to a second apparent drug overdose death in West Virginia.
Media outlets report 23-year-old Kelvin Alpha Johnson was arraigned on one drug-related count Wednesday night in Berkeley County Magistrate Court.
A criminal complaint says Johnson allegedly provided heroin to 22-year-old Joel Michael Custer of Augusta at a Bunker Hill strip club on Saturday night. Custer died a few hours later.
Earlier Wednesday, Johnson and 23-year-old Sykebia Tanasha Stewart of Baltimore were arraigned on three counts of distribution of an unspecified controlled substance. Authorities say those charges are related to Tuesday's death of 18-year-old Jorge Armando Mercado-Medrano of Falling Waters and overdoses involving two others who remain hospitalized. That alleged incident occurred at a Falling Waters motel.
