Perennial swap

The Putnam County Library will sponsor a Perennial Swap from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Main Branch in Teays Valley. Iris, hostas, asparagus and all perennial bulbs and plants are welcome. Anyone wanting to thin or divide their plants can swap them for something different. For more information, visit putnam.lib.wv.us or call the Main Library at 304-757- 7307.

Marmet yard sale

The town of Marmet will have a community yard sale beginning 8 a.m. on Saturday at the Marmet ball field. Table rentals are available for $10 each. Contact Barry Pauley at 304-949-9692.

Putnam Democratic women

The Putnam County Chapter of the West Virginia Federation of Democratic Women will sponsor a Democratic rally and annual picnic at noon on Saturday at Valley Park (Wave Pool), Shelter #2, Hurricane. All Putnam County Democratic nominees are invited to speak. A $5 donation per person is requested, children under 13 years old will be admitted free. Bring a side dish or dessert. Barbecue and all the fixings, along with beverages will be provided. For reservations, call 304-727-1509 leave a message.

Inner listening

Unity of Kanawha Valley will be home to a monthly Inner Listening class at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday with leader Marianne Gettman. The class is held on a love-offering basis and consists of mindful breathing, stretching, meditations and Qigong Flow. Unity of Kanawha Valley is located at 804 Myrtle Road.

Winfield Lions

The Winfield Lions Club will sponsor a yard sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the clubhouse, on Main Street in Winfield, near the new town gazebo beside the river. Vendors may rent tables for $10, or $15 for provided table. Set up time is 8 a.m. on the day of the sale. Hot dogs will be sold and eyeglasses will be collected.
