Mountaineer Montessori School, 308 20th St., will hold its annual community picnic at noon on Thursday at Coonskin Park Riverside Pavilion. MMS families, faculty, incoming students, alumni and community are invited to this end-of-year celebration, featuring a buffet of traditional and international foods and entertainment. Professors in Marshall University's Department of Mathematics will offer two ACT math preparation courses from 1 to 4 p.m. daily, June 6-10 and July 11-15 for high school students in grades 9-12. Each session at the university in Huntington is $160, with different math readiness levels available. The ACT camps are sponsored by the West Virginia Science Adventures program.
