The Kanawha Valley WVU Fan Club will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at Harding's Restaurant next to the Interstate 79 Mink Shoals exit, Exit 1.

Mountaineer Montessori School, 308 20th St., will hold its annual community picnic at noon on Thursday at Coonskin Park Riverside Pavilion. MMS families, faculty, incoming students, alumni and community are invited to this end-of-year celebration, featuring a buffet of traditional and international foods and entertainment. YWCA Past and Present Gently Used Clothing Store will have a bag sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday with $3 bags and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday with $2 bags. Past and Present is located at 1598 Lee St. E. YWCA 2nd Seating Gently Used Furniture Store's Red Dot Sale is 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday with 20 percent to 50 percent off most items. 2nd Seating is located at 412 Elizabeth St. Both stores support the operations of the YWCA Alicia McCormick Homes and YWCA Shanklin Center for Senior Enrichment. Qdoba will participate in a Spirit Day fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at its location. Those who present a flier will have 20 percent of their order donated to the REACH Rape Crisis Program. For flier or more information visit:

Professors in Marshall University's Department of Mathematics will offer two ACT math preparation courses from 1 to 4 p.m. daily, June 6-10 and July 11-15 for high school students in grades 9-12. Each session at the university in Huntington is $160, with different math readiness levels available. The ACT camps are sponsored by the West Virginia Science Adventures program.
