Tai chi for seniors
A tai chi class for seniors will be offered at 10:30 a.m. beginning Thursday and continuing on Thursdays for six weeks at the Hometown Senior Center in Hometown. Tai chi can also be effectively done from a sitting position. To sign up, call 304-586-2745.
Memory walk
The WV Chapter of Moms Demand Action/Everytown for Gun Safety is hosting a #WearOrange memory walk from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday for National Gun Violence Awareness Day. The walk begins at 5 p.m. on the Patrick Street (Big Lots) parking lot, finishing at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation for post- walk refreshments. Free Orange T-shirts are provided while supplies last. All are encouraged to Wear Orange on June 2 to honor those directly affected by gun violence. Creation Science
The Kanawha Creation Science Group will hold its monthly meeting from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the South Charleston First Church of the Nazarene, 4923 Kentucky Street, South Charleston. Painting class
Kanawha City Community Center will offer painting on canvas classes from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the first Saturday of each month at the center, 3511 Venable Ave. The class is open to all ages ranging from youth to adults and open to every skill level. The class is limited to 10 participants and the cost is $10 a class. Registration for the June 4 class is Saturday.
