Tennis carnival
The Roosevelt Neighborhood Center will be having a Tennis Carnival with help from the USTA/Midwestern Tennis Association and the Charleston Area Tennis Association, from 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the center. A representative from Midwest OVTA/USTA will be directing activities. Children can participate in tennis games and activities. Equipment, sized appropriately for children, will be provided. Food and drinks will be provided for participants while provisions last. Annual meeting
The St. Albans Housing Authority's Board of Commissioners will have their annual meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Villager Apartments Community Room, 650 6th St., St. Albans.
Bonnie's Bus
Bonnie's Bus, a digital mammography center on wheels, will offer mammograms and breast care education to women from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Sissonville Health Center in Charleston. A physician's order is needed for a mammogram. For an appointment, call 304-984-1576. The mammograms are billed to private insurance, Medicaid, or Medicare, if available. Mammograms for women who do not have insurance will be covered by the West Virginia Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Program or through special grant funds from the West Virginia affiliate of Susan G. Driver needed
Meals on Wheels, a volunteer community program that delivers meals to those in need, regardless of age, needs a driver for one day a week on the West Side of Charleston. Meals are picked up at St. Francis approximately 10:45 a.m. and takes about an hour and half for delivery. Training will be provided. Call 304-346-5104 for more information about volunteering.
WVSSPA dues reduction
The West Virginia School Service Personnel Association announced at its 51st annual Spring Conference an annual dues reduction of $31 for regular members. Membership dues for regular members has dropped to $229 annually plus the county share. Substitutes can join for $45 plus the county share, and retirees can join for just $5 plus the county share.
