In Around West Virginia: Senator Capito plans to meet with Donald Trump, the DEA targets prescription drug abuse in the Clarksburg area, and more.

n U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito, R- W.Va., will meet with Donald Trump on Thursday before deciding whether to endorse him for president, MetroNews reports. Capito says Trump hasn't been specific enough when describing how he plans to put coal miners back to work.

n For the first time, a woman was elected to the 11th judicial circuit, serving Greenbrier and Pocahontas counties. Jennifer Dent, of White Sulphur Springs, received more than double the votes her two opponents received combined, according to The Register-Herald. Dent received 51 percent of the Greenbrier County vote and 46 percent in Pocahontas County.

n A new DEA Tactical Diversion Squad is starting in West Virginia, according to The Exponent Telegram. The squad will target prescription drug abuse. The new unit brings the total of diversion squads to two in West Virginia, which is uncommon for smaller states, according to Capito.

n Law enforcement knew about allegations that a Fairmont doctor had sexual contact with patients as far back as 2011, according to The Exponent Telegram. Lt. Douglas Yost, a Fairmont police officer, told the newspaper that assistant U.S. attorneys were in the room when police watched a video backing up a woman's allegations of sexual contact in the exam room. Yost said U.S. attorneys quickly turned down the investigation. Dr. Eugenio Menez is accused of trading prescription painkillers for sexual activity.
