The Charleston Area Alliance and City National Bank Business After Hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at City National Bank, 10 Hale St. The summer kickoff block party will include an indoor and outdoor bar and catering by Bridge Road Bistro. All ticket prices include complimentary food and beverages. The cost is $15 for Alliance members and $25 for future members who register online before 5 p.m. on Wednesday. Prices then increase to $25 for Alliance members and $35 for future members.

West Virginia Landlords will meet at 6 p.m. for social hour/dinner at Fifth Quarter. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. All landlords are welcome. Call 304-342-4342 for information.

Ron Sowell's Open Stage and Coffee House will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Friday at Unity of Kanawha Valley, 804 Myrtle Road. Local musicians are welcome to come and share their talents in a friendly and enthusiastic atmosphere. Performers sign up at 7 p.m. and the music begins at 7:30 p.m. General admission is $5. Admission for performers, seniors and children is $2. Various coffees, teas, soft drinks and homemade treats are available at a small cost.

The Board of Commissioners of the Kanawha Public Service District will have its next regularly scheduled meeting at 9 a.m. on Thursday at the business office at 14991 MacCorkle Ave., Chelyan.

The final day to sign up for Fayette County Schools' district-wide Pre-K registration for the 2016-17 school term will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday in the Oak Hill Church of the Nazarene Family Life Center. Bring child's original birth certificate, Social Security card, immunization records, 4-year-old health check, proof of a dental exam in the last 12 months from a dentist, verification of income and proof of residence. The Kanawha County Republican Party Convention will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday at the LaBelle Theater, 311 D St., South Charleston. Jordan Burgess from the WVGOP will be on hand to answer any questions about the convention. All Kanawha County registered Republicans are invited. Those in attendance will select 104 county delegates to represent Kanawha County during this summer's state-wide convention on June 25 at the Charleston Marriott, 200 Lee St. At the State Convention, county delegates from around West Virginia will approve the party platform. The delegates attending the State Convention will be responsible for paying a $25 delegate fee, which will help defray costs for room and refreshments.
