Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and free screenings, tours of the center, exhibits and refreshments will be offered. Charleston Montessori's annual community hike series, Life's a Hike, features the Sunrise Carriage Trail in South Hills on Thursday. The hike will start at 5:30 p.m. at the Myrtle Road entrance. Kanawha County Public Library will sponsor a meet the author event with Lynn Eldridge at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Main Library, 123 Capitol St. Join local author Lynn Eldridge as she reads from her book "Black Hills Bounty," a historical romance set in 1876 Dakota Territory. A therapist by day, Eldridge is a former president of the West Virginia Chapter of the Romantic Writers of America. She has written eight books and has won an honorable mention in the RWA's Golden Heart contest for her book "Kindred Spirits." "Black Hills Bounty" is her first novel to be published. Copies of the book will be available for purchase. The program is for adults.
