CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary Robert McDonald is on the final leg of his two-day swing through West Virginia.
U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin is hosting McDonald's visit. Friday's first stop is the Appalachian Addiction and Prescription Drug Abuse Conference in Charleston. At that event, McDonald will focus on physician recruitment to the VA as well as prescription drug abuse and addiction among veterans.
That will be followed by a town hall on VA rural health care in Maxwelton. McDonald will visit the Marshall University School of Pharmacy, then wrap up his tour at the annual Gold Star Families retreat in Kingwood.
