The Charleston Jewish community will sponsor a service of remembrance at 6 p.m. May 4 at Temple Israel, 2312 Kanawha Blvd. E., in remembrance of those who were murdered and to educate the public about the consequences of intolerance. The service will be conduced by rabbis James Cohn and Victor Urecki.
The 22nd Annual "Unto Every Person There Is a Name" Holocaust Memorial Program will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 5 at the Charleston Town Center Mall, Macy's Court, first level.
Volunteers are needed to read names of those murdered. If interested, a preferred time slot can be reserved by calling Greg Proctor at Temple Israel at 304-342-5852, between 9:30 a.m. 3:30 p.m. weekdays. The office will be closed this Friday.
