n West Virginia Public Broadcasting reports that Hillary Clinton has received more donations than other presidential candidates in West Virginia. At the time of the report, she had received about $170,000. Bernie Sanders and Ted Cruz were close to tied for second place, both receiving about $158,000.
n West Virginia Public Broadcasting points to several studies that document bias against black people in West Virginia, including bias in school discipline, juvenile justice, police stops and drug arrests. The Rev. Matthew Watts, of the HOPE Development Corporation, said the research helps explain why black people make up 3 percent of the population, but 28 percent of people in jail or prison.
n A Morgantown company that produces T-shirts from recyclable materials has secured a three-year contract with Major League Baseball, The State Journal reports. SustainU, founded by Morgantown native Chris Yura, will create T-shirts for all 30 MLB teams.
n A candidates for Beckley Council says his shoplifting charge was result of the VA having him "so doped up on medications that I didn't know what I was doing." According to a criminal complaint filed in Raleigh Magistrate Court, John Wynn has been charged with shoplifting several times and convicted once. He told The Register-Herald he is being harassed by the police.
