A South Charleston woman was sentenced Wednesday to three years in federal prison for a methamphetamine crime.

Jonda Grandoni, 52, pleaded guilty in January to possession with intent to distribute meth.

She admitted that on Oct. 12, 2012, she arranged to have a package containing methamphetamine shipped via FedEx to someone who would, in turn, deliver it to her for distribution, according to a news release from Acting U.S. Attorney Carol Casto's office.

Law enforcement intercepted the package before it was delivered and found that it contained 11.5 grams of meth, the release states.

Officers then set up a controlled delivery of the package to Grandoni, who accepted the package and was arrested.

In addition to the meth recovered by law enforcement, Grandoni admitted that she was responsible for the distribution of more than 520 grams of meth.
