West Virginia Wesleyan College has raised about $25 million for scholarships, equipment and capital improvements on campus, the school announced on Thursday.
It is in the midst of a capital campaign to raise $30 million by June 30, 2017. Fundraising started in October.
"Two of our top priorities for this campaign are to address affordability and to secure support for academic needs such as science equipment, curriculum development and faculty support," said university President Pamela Balch.
Tuition and fees at West Virginia Wesleyan, a private college in Buckhannon, cost about $38,000 a year.
With funding from the campaign, the college has created 30 endowed scholarships.
Money from the campaign will go to more than helping students pay for school, though. Other priorities include capital improvements and special projects.
Nearly 5,500 people have contributed to the campaign. To learn more about it, visit www.wvwc.edu/campaign.
