The final member of a heroin-dealing Culloden family was sentenced to federal prison on Monday, Acting U.S. Attorney Carol Casto announced.
Chief U.S. District Judge Robert Chambers sentenced Toni Lynn Cremeans, 41, to two years in federal prison on Monday, according to a release from Casto's office. Cremeans, along with her husband, Sanford, and son, Shawn, sold heroin from their home in 2014 and 2015.
Toni Cremeans pleaded guilty in December 2015 to distributing heroin, according to the release.
The family conspired to sell heroin from their 2246 3rd Street home in Culloden, and Toni Cremeans would frequently transport heroin to the home where they would prepare it for distribution, the release said.
A confidential informant who was working with law enforcement contacted Shawn Cremeans to buy heroin in December 2014, according to the release. The informant then traveled to the Cremeans' residence and waited with Shawn and Sandford Cremeans while they waited for Toni Cremeans to arrive with more heroin. Once she arrived, the informant paid Shawn Cremeans and received the heroin from Sanford Cremeans, the release states.
Toni Cremeans admitted she was responsible for distributing up to 100 grams of heroin during the conspiracy, and Shawn and Sanford admitted they assisted in the sale of heroin and were also responsible for distributing up to 100 grams of heroin, the release said.
Sanford Cremeans was sentenced to three-and-a-half years in federal prison in January, and Shawn Cremeans was sentenced five years of probation, according to the release.
