Trail club hikes

Kanawha Trail Club will sponsor hikes Saturday and Sunday. A hike will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Beech Fork State Park. The hike will be 6-7 miles on moderate trails, including a new trail. A hike will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday on Kanawha State Forest's Alligator, New Trail, Teaberry Loop trails. This hike is approximately 4 miles on a moderate grade trail, with some short, steep spots.

Reunion group

The Magazine/Garrison Avenue Area Reunion Group will meet for breakfast at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Shoney's, Kanawha Boulevard.

Cinema Sunday

The Putnam County Library will be hosting its first Cinema Sunday starting at 2 p.m. this Sunday at the Main Library in Teays Valley. The movie "Minions" will be shown. Cinema Sundays will be held on the third Sunday of the month during the school year. International sorority

Preceptor Alpha chapter of Beta Sigma Phi International Sorority will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at Canaan United Methodist Church, 401 Roane St. President Diane Domaschko will conduct the business meeting. A board meeting will be held at 6:45 p.m. Charlotte Bowling will have a program and serve refreshments. Service is tabs for Ronald McDonald house, containers for Manna Meal, and magazines/books for the VA hospital/clinic.

Sorority meeting

Torchbearer Alpha Chapter, Beta Sigma Phi sorority will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the home of Sandra Medley, who will host and present the program. Officers for 2016-17 will be installed and a 50-year ritual will be given to member Lynda Harper. Money will be collected for the annual service project.

Bird club

Handlan Chapter of the Brooks Bird Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday for the annual "State of WV Birds" at the South Charleston Library. Find out what birds are doing well and those that are not. An update on the WV Breeding Bird Atlas will be given. The board meets at 6 p.m.
