Marshall University faculty, staff, students and alumni, clad in the school's signature Kelly green, turned out in Charleston on Friday morning to support their school during the Legislative session.

The annual Marshall Day at the Capitol offered 45 displays promoting a variety of programs. Matt Hayes, executive director of Alumni Relations, said university representatives greeted visitors and interacted with legislators, while emphasizing that every Marshall degree earned is an investment in the future of West Virginia.

While in Charleston on Friday, Marshall also celebrated the Thundering Herd's 16-10 victory over the University of Connecticut in the St. Petersburg Bowl on Dec. 26, 2015, by displaying the bowl trophy and recognizing coach Doc Holliday and Athletic Director Mike Hamrick.
