The Church At The Depot, officially known as Scott Depot Christ Fellowship in Putnam County, partnered for the first time with the Tim Tebow Foundation to host a “Night to Shine” Prom for anyone age 16 and older with developmental or physical impairments. The three-hour event took place simultaneously at churches nationwide at 6 last Friday evening.
Prom attendees checked in with volunteers before being assigned a buddy to lead them to hair, make-up and shoeshine stations. After the guests were gussied up, they waited for a limousine to take them from the church up the street to the Teays Valley Christian School gymnasium, where they were greeted by a long line of people cheering and taking photos on the red carpet.
Food and drinks were provided as Jeff Kidd, aka Coach Kidd, and Morgan Robinson from the 102.7 FM Morning Show played the music for prom goers to bust a move on the dance floor.
Pastor Matt Davis said 94 were in attendance, accompanied by more than 120 family members and caretakers. A supporting cast of 200 volunteers gave their time to give their guests a night to remember.
