The Kanawha-Charleston Humane Association is waiving adoption fees after impounding a record 98 animals, mainly cats, on Wednesday, according to a news release.
"We're critically full, meaning our two-year streak of lifesaving is at risk," director Chelsea Staley wrote.
The shelter on Wednesday admitted: 78 cats, nine dogs, six birds, two chinchillas, two rats and one rabbit.
To adopt, visit the humane association on Greenbrier Street between 12 p.m. and 6 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
