New Year's Eve dance
Speakeasy Singles will have a New Year's Eve Dance from 8:30 p.m. today through 12:30 a.m. Friday at the YMCA. No entry until 8 p.m. The cost for the special dance is $15 per person. Dancin' Dave will rock in the New Year. Toast in the New Year (non-alcoholic) at midnight. Special food will be provided from 10 to 10:30 p.m. There will be a photo background for 2016 and party favors. From State Capitol Exit off Interstate 64 / 77, go up Greenbrier Street to first street on the right at the light. Turn up the hill and then left onto YMCA Drive. Republican women
The Kanawha County Republican Women will hold their regular club meeting on Monday at the Charleston Civic Center. A buffet lunch will be available for $11 and parking is free. For more information, call 304-965-5365.

The Malden Public Service District Board of Commissioners will have its next regular meeting at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the District office located in the administrative building at the treatment facility.
Creation Science meeting
The Kanawha Creation Science Group will hold its monthly meeting from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Jan. 7 at the South Charleston First Church of the Nazarene, 4923 Kentucky St., South Charleston. Budget breakfast
The West Virginia Center on Budget and Policy will have its third annual Budget Breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Jan. 19 at the Marriott Charleston Town Center, 200 Lee St. E. There will be a budget discussion followed by keynote presentation by Alexandra Forter Sirota, director of the North Carolina Budget and Tax Center. Early bird registration of $40 ends today.
