Charleston tree collection
The City of Charleston Street Department will start picking up trees today. Trucks will go through neighborhoods to collect the un-decorated trees that residents place at the curb. Tree collection will continue as weather permits. City residents can call the Street Department at 304-348-6850 with questions or concerns about tree collection.
Zumba
Zumba with Jennifer Chapman returns to Kanawha City Community Center, 3511 Venable Ave., on Jan. 5. Classes are Tuesdays at 6 p.m. and Saturdays at 10 a.m. The cost is $5 per class or $20 for four weeks. Call 304-348-6484 or email tonya.cummings@cityof charleston.org.
KCPL program
Kanawha County Public Library will offer a Holiday I Spy activity all day on Sunday in the Main Library's Children's Department, 123 Capitol St. Find the holiday pictures hidden around the Children's Department. Write down where you found them and pick a prize when you are finished. Children may only play I Spy once per day. For more information, visit www.kanawhalibrary.org. Fur auction
The West Virginia Trappers Association will hold their Fur Auction on Jan. 8-10 at the Gilmer County Recreation Center in Glenville. The Board of Directors meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Jan. 8. A Fur Handling Clinic will be noon to 5 p.m. Jan. 9 at the Recreation Center also. The next Fur Auction will be March 4-6.
