In Around West Virginia: the best of Mountain Stage, WVU emissions researchers who attracted international attention reflect on the experience, Booth Goodwin in the New York Times, and more.

n Larry Groce and the rest of the team at Mountain Stage picked the top performances of 2015. They couldn't narrow the list down to 10, so they picked 27 performances instead. Listen over at West Virginia Public Broadcasting.

n West Virginia University researchers reflected on the international attention received after their tests led to the realization that Volkswagen had installed emissions cheating software in vehicles. WVU's Center for Alternative Fuels Engines and Emissions is attracting more attention from high-quality potential students and research partners, according to The State Journal. "It has been nice to get recognized for our work, but the real reward is being able to work with the students and new ideas," said Dan Carder, interim director of the center.

n Spring blooming could be affected by the warmer temperatures West Virginia has recently experienced. WVU Extension Service's Kanawha County Agriculture and Natural Resources Agent John Porter said on MetroNews "Talkline" that some flowers that are blooming early won't bloom again in spring.

n U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin's resignation made the New York Times. As with the Gazette-Mail, he wouldn't say whether he is running for governor. However, he has been considering a run for months.
