A former West Virginia doctor and medical school professor has been appointed the new chairman of the Cleveland Clinic's Medicine Institute beginning Feb. 1.
Dr. J. Gregory Rosencrance, a Charleston native, joined the staff of Cleveland Clinic Florida in 2014 as chair of the Department of Internal Medicine and Center Director for Medicine. Before joining Cleveland Clinic, Rosencrance worked as the Ayash Distinguished Professor of Internal Medicine and chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine at the West Virginia University School of Medicine-Charleston Division.
"I look forward to guiding and collaborating with the institute team to deliver outstanding care while simultaneously transforming our care delivery model," Rosencrance said in a statement.
Rosencrance earned his undergraduate degree from West Virginia University and his medical degree from the Marshall University School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency training in medicine at Charleston Area Medical Center, where he was chief medical resident.
