Inner listening class
Unity of Kanawha Valley will host the monthly Inner Listening class with Marianne Gettman at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. The class consists of mindful breathing exercises, stretching, meditations and Qigong Flow. Instructor will be Marianne Gettman. The class is on a love-offering basis only. Unity of Kanawha Valley, 804 Myrtle Road, corner of Bridge and Myrtle roads, holds Inner Listening classes on the first Saturday of each month.
Walking club
Kanawha Valley Senior Services Walking Club will meet at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 10 at Tiskelwah Senior Center, 600 Florida St. Transportation will be provided to the walking destination, from the Carriage Trail to Haddad Riverfront Park. Lunch will be at Tiskelwah, there is no charge for seniors over the age of 60, however, donations are welcome. Call 304-348-0707 for information.
Al-Anon/Alateen meetings
Al-Anon and Alateen holds open and free group get togethers to help folks who find themselves loving someone with an addiction. Alanon meetings are held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays at St. John's Episcopal Church, 1105 Quarrier St.; at noon Wednesdays at the Kanawha County Day Report Center, 900 Christopher St.; and at 7 p.m. Thursdays in the Edgewood area at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, 819 Somerset Dr. Alateen, for teens who deal with the alcoholism and/or drug addiction of a parent or friend. Meets at 7 p.m. Thursdays in the Edgewood area at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, 819 Somerset Dr.; and noon on Fridays at Christ Church United Methodist, second floor, Quarrier and Morris streets. The Legacy Study group meets at 7 p.m. Sundays at Presbyterian Church, 508 Second Ave., South Charleston.
